Recording Breve to make a short show

I am hoping to use breve to create an animated short. I was wondering if anyone has any comment about this. I have read that the sound cannot be recorded within breve, and the there may be some issues with character movement. I believe if I start small I will be able to evolve this to something that will be watchable by more than just me.

Thank you for creating and maintaining Breve. I look forward to the new version.

Can you currently record from more than one view point?

Recording Breve to make a short show

Hi there,
sounds like a very interesting idea!

It's true that breve does not currently export sound. If you're on a Mac, though, many users have reported success using the program Audio Hijack: http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijack/

As for recording more than one point of view, it is possible to set up multiple cameras using the Camera class -- see the VisionSwarm for an example. Note though that the resulting image will be shown in the "main" simulation view, so it will require post-processing to use the different angles. Another option would be to run the simulation twice from separate angles (with the same random seed so that the behavior is the same).

As a final note, the most ideal would perhaps be to be able to export breve object positions to a 3d modelling program so that you could render the whole thing however you want. This currently isn't supported, but could be implemented as a plugin.
