Questions about meshshape

Can someone supply some code that shows the uses of a meshshape? Is 3D Studio max the only application that can provide these meshshapes?
FYI, 3DS MAX version 8 is available as a 30 day trial.

Sorry, mesh shapes are not currently officially supported. There is some code in there for it, but it is not really working enough to be officially supported.
