3DS import
I have parts that were modeled in Maya and converted into the 3ds format. If I import the 3ds parts back into Maya everything pops right into place again. In breve I have a hard time to have the pieces fit together. The first problem is that the first part get rotated, the others don't. I got around the normalizing of the parts by measuring the bounding box for the parts in Maya and using the biggest dimension for the size. My only problem right now is how to figure out the translations so all the parts are in the right place again. Any help is appreciated.
Since the attachment of zip files doesn't work I renamed the zip file to breveObject.pdf. If you change the extension back to zip you get to the parts of the object and the a version of the complete object.

So Maya imports all these
So Maya imports all these individual files and knows how to place them correctly? Where is Maya getting the information from -- is there a "master" file you are using which refers to all the other parts. I don't really know anything about how Maya works, so I'm just trying to figure out how it's loading these objects.
Also, can you maybe post a screenshot or two of how the model should look when properly imported?

if you download the
if you download the breveObject.pdf from the original post, rename it to breveObject.zip you can get the files. parts.3ds is the whole object assembled, part[1-7].3ds are the individual parts and the tz is the test file to load them.
the reply doesn't give the options to attach a file.
