An idea needs right direction

Okay let me start off by saying that i'll be starting my 4th yr of uni in england. I am studing bsc computer science(SE) .

For my final year projectstarting in sep 08, i am thinking of doing something in AI and graphics .

What i am thinking is creating some sort of simulated world , with 2 creatures . Something
like fox and rabbit simulation. Rabbit wants to eat carrots and fox wants to eat rabbit , initially fox eats rabbit when rabbit is about to eat carrot but then after certain amount of generations rabbit gets artificially intelligent and is able to outsmart the fox and get to the carrots field maybe from other side . But then after few generations fox gets smart and he moves to other side or rather searches for the rabbit . and this goes on and on....

Sorry for my english , this is my basic idea . I will require to create a fox ,rabbit , carrot field in circle or spare, some clouds, green grass etc .

I have done AI(robot war, rule bases,GA,NN,FUZZY ETC) for 1 sem and know java and sql pretty well, c/c++ little bit. No knowledge of python.

Its by chance i came across Breve , and i find it very promising for this project .
Its gonna be the most important thing in last 4 yrs at uni , so i am worried.

Please give me some ideas, techniques etc as to how to go about this .
All help is greatly apprecieted .
:)

breve would probably be a

breve would probably be a great place to start. You might want to look at the Capture the Flag simulation, as it models two competing groups of agents that will try to capture each other. You could then add food to the world and evolutionary behaviors to the agents.
