breveCreatures in Vista x64?

Hello all,
I am running 64 bit Vista and I have breveCreatures installed. The simulation runs but the status never gets saved so it starts over from scratch every time. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I suspect it is a result of Vista not letting other programs write to the system folders. Does anyone know a work around for this?
