BreveIDE under linux causes X to use ~98% CPU usage.

I am having a problem with the BreveIDE (version 2.7.2) under Linux.

I have tried both the 32 bit Linux version of BreveIDE on my Arch64 Linux system. The problem is that X's CPU usage creeps up to ~98% and starts lagging the entire system.

I have also tried the Windows version of BreveIDE under WINE and have the exact same problems.

I have also tried to compile the source code (thinking it could be a bug with my lib32 emulation), but the ffmpeg API has changed too much in the past 3 years, (see http://www.spiderland.org/node/3599).

I am running Arch Linux x86_64, last updated 24 July 2007. My X server is X.Org X Server 1.6.2, with the 185.18.14 nvidia drivers.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue on Linux, and does anyone know how to fix these issues?
